Broader understanding of faith

PARTICIPANTS attending the Reweaving the Ecological Mat conference were yesterday reminded to have a broader understanding of faith.

Head of the Catholic Church Archbishop Peter Loy Chong said faith was not limited to a church.

“Most of these participants are Christians and they will go back with the broader understanding of what faith is, broader understanding of the Holy Spirit and what that means to faith,” he said.

“Faith is not limited to the church and those who go to church on Sunday.”

Archbishop Chong said a new way was needed to be Catholic.

“This means there needs to be a new way for Christians in an inclusive way.

“Catholic means universal, so what we really need now is a new way of being Catholic and being inclusive in our faith where we can bring creation and bring other religions into the conversation,” he added.
