Baulevu accident: Vehicle retrieved, Tasleem to be buried today

THE body of Tasleem Ali who died when the car he was driving plunged into the Rewa River will be laid to rest at the Drekeinakelo Cemetery in Baulevu, Nausori this evening.

This has been confirmed by his uncle Sharif Dean during an interview at his home this afternoon.

“We are just waiting for police to release his body before we lay him to rest,” he said.

Mr Dean said the family are relieved that his nephew’s body has been found after six days of searching by police and naval officers.

A team of police, navy divers and fire-fighters were at the scene since 7am until they retrieved the body at around midday.
