ATHLETICS Fiji is planning to take nine athletes to the Samoa Pacific Games and are on track to achieving the goal.

The association is having its final trials for the games in July.

Association president Joseph Rodan said there had been a positive number of turn outs today.

“We are surprised with the positive turn out from these athletes, especially the school students. We are also pleased with the performance and the level of competition,” Rodan said.

“Looking forward to better results towards the end of the day as we are going for gold this year to the Pacific Games.”
