The Fiji Performing Rights Association (FPRA) has received $15,000 in sponsorship for this year’s FPRA music awards, which will be held on October 1 at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva.

Yesterday Communications Fiji Ltd, Capital Insurance and Software Factory Ltd gave $5000 towards the event.

The companies are sponsors of the most popular song, best new artist and best hip-hop song.

FPRA chairman Eremasi Tamanisau said the sponsorship money will go towards costs, awards and logistics of the music awards.

He thanked the companies for their sponsorship, adding such funding helped composers and musicians at the national level.

“Without them, this event will virtually be very hard to be realised. “It’s a big sacrifice on their part, a great contribution and we are happy for the positive support.”
