Ali appointed SPTO’s tourism planning officer

THE South Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO) has welcomed a new Tourism Planning Officer who will be part of their Sustainable Tourism Development Division.
The new officer, Ahmad Ali, will be required to assist the Sustainable Tourism Development manager in the planning, documentation and implementation of sustainable tourism strategies, policies and projects in aid of regional sustainable tourism priorities of SPTO members.
SPTO chief executive officer Chris Cocker said Mr Ali’s expertise would help support efforts to strengthen the capacity of the Sustainable Tourism Development Division in addressing the needs and priorities of the members and stakeholders.
Mr Ali holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Development Studies as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Management & Public Administration from the University of the South Pacific.
He has extensive experience in development, humanitarian response, program management, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
“I am looking forward to working with the dynamic team at SPTO and as well as our member countries, stakeholders and partners in the Pacific tourism industry,” said Mr Ali.
