Bati Scores London Deal

FIJI Bati halfback Henry Raiwalui has scored himself a contract with the London Broncos where he will be playing next year.

The 33-year-old helped Fiji reach the quarter-finals of the Rugby League World Cup where they fell short against New Zealand.

The London Broncos play in the Rugby League Federation Championship.

Raiwalui has won 12 caps for Fiji since making his international debut in 2011.

Broncos director of rugby and performance Mike Eccles told the club’s media that he believes Raiwalui can play an important role both on and off the pitch for the team.

“Henry is everything I’m looking for in a half back,” said Eccles.

“He arrives to the Broncos with a wealth of experience and will be a fantastic person to have in the squad. “He’s a real competitor and is an incredible threat when he has the ball in his hand. His leadership qualities and temperament will really add value to our team too.”

The Broncos were part of the Super League from its inaugural season in 1996 until the end of the 2014 season, when they were relegated to the championship.
