FIJI produced about 4.5 million dozen eggs in 2017.

Assistant Minister for Environment and Rural Development Viam Pillay made this comment while opening Meena’s Poultry Farm at Coqeloa in Labasa at the weekend.

Most of those eggs, he said, were consumed by the domestic market including hotels and restaurants.

“The rest was exported to neighbouring Pacific Island countries such as Tonga, Kiribati, Vanuatu and Nauru,” he said.
