Fiji Labour Party leader Mahendra Chaudhry says he is standing again in the 2022 General Election because he can’t bear the “wrongs” of the FijiFirst government.

“A leader has a responsibility to the people, a duty to the people and to fight injustice,” he said.

“We can’t just take all of these wrong things being done to our people and do nothing about it.”

He said a Fiji Labour Party led government would ensure reforms would be introduced to ensure all Fijians were treated equally.

“We will bring reforms in our society.

“So many people’s lives have been affected by their decisions, forceful actions, changing laws and people being arrested.

“People face injustice and others beaten to death.”

He said voters must exercise their right on December 14.

“Let’s get democracy back.

“Any government that will come next will have challenges because of our economic mess and debt.

“Accountability and honesty will find a way to clean this mess.”

He added that their party would aim to lower Fiji’s debt levels and address issues within sectors such as health, infrastructure and agriculture.
