“WE want the upcoming govenment to at least give us this land to be ours.”
These were words of Josua Rabonu who has been living in Newtown, Nasinu, for more than 50 years.
Mr Rabonu said they were worried about what the future had for their children if they continued leasing.
He said the land they lived on was a crown land- a land that belong to the Government and not them.
“We have been living here for years now and that’s all we want, we want this land to be ours,” Mr Rabonu said.
“We don’t want our children who are yet to come to suffer in the near future.”
Mr Rabonu is among more than 20 people attending a Unity Fiji party pocket meeting that is being held at Newtown in Nasinu.
