2018 General Election: Nacamaki villagers raise anomaly on pre-poll day

FIJIAN Prime Minister and FijiFirst party leader Voreqe Bainimarama made a public call on air for his officers to contact the Fijian Elections Office (FEO) to remedy a situation at Nacamaki in Koro, Lomaiviti, where a few voters were unable to vote today as pre-polling began nationwide.

During a radio talkback show today between Mr Banimarama and SODELPA leader Sitiveni Rabuka, a caller from Nacamaki Village revealed that five villagers were unable to find their names in the voter roll despite having their voter ID card, and subsequently could not vote.

Mr Bainimarama told the caller that he needed to contact election officials on the island immediately to remedy the situation.

He also issued a directive to any of his officers listening to the program to action this matter at the earliest time possible.
